The 1973-1974 basketball season was a very successful season for the Crimson Tide, Under the coaching of Mr. Ken Kline, the Tide showed its aggressive playing and all-out hustle, for which they are noted. A well balanced team, compiling an over-all record of 16 wins and 7 losses, place fourth in both offense and defense in the East Penn League.

   This year's seniors are John Burch, the Tide's second leading scorer: Ed Mady, the 6'3" center, who aided in the balanced scoring attack, and Gary McClure.

   This year the Crimson Tide captured its first Christmas Tournament in championship fashion, by dethroning the defending champion, Reading, by the score of 62-60. Qualifying for District XI playoffs, the Tide failed to advance. With three starters returning next year, Pottsville is an excellent pick as one of the threats for District XI title.

   This year's team prossessed a fine group of underclassmen who provided the needed scoring punch. Juniors Todd Kline, Tom Francavage, and Mike Smink and sophomore Pat Flannery, who finished the season as fifth leadiing scorer in the East penn League with 253 points, were important ingredients to the 1973-1974 Tide.

   The Tide's Junior Varsity team compiled a record of 10 wins and 10 losses, while the freshmen team finished with 15 wins and 2 losses. Congratulations go to the teams and coaches for their successful seasons.
