Hustle and desire produced one of the
fastest and most exciting teams on any East Penn League court. Although the Crimson lacked excess height, they dazzled fans
in every game by their trickery, expert ball handling, and sheer courage.
The team ran an initial string of five straight victories by big margins before the initial loss. The Tide was completely
successful with Pine Grove, Mahanoy Area, Phillipsburg, William Allen, Allentown Central Catholic, Easton, Blue Mountain,
and West Hazleton in compiling a 14-8 seasonal record.
Because the varsity was so well balanced, the underclassmen saw a lot of action. The JV team did an excellant job and lost
only three games. This points to a very promising season next year.
The graduating seniors will be missed next year. They are Tom Shaffer, Doug Snowell, Jim Walters, Jack Dolbin, Al Portland,
Frank Deitz, and Nelson Womer.
